Overview

NAND Controller is a non-volatile, high-density memory controller. NAND Flash is typically used for secondary storage or long term storage. NAND Flash controller manages the data stored on NOR and NAND Flash memory, and they communicate with the computer or device.  NAND Flash Controller provides an easy interface to access NAND Flash Controller Memory devices. It supports multiplexed command, address and Write/Read data sequences.

NAND Controller devices usually have a complex and multiplexed device architecture which only support page Write/Read and Block Erase operations. The ONFI 3.0 NAND Flash Controller IP Core from Mistral provides an easy access to various NAND Controller devices over an 8-bit wide interface to handle multiplexed command, address and Write/Read data sequences.

Supporting ONFI 3.0 NAND Flash controller standards, Mistral’s NAND Controller IP Core has several configurable features and parameters to customize the controller for the specific needs of diverse applications. Mistral’s NAND Flash Controller IP Core is designed for Maximum Data Transfer Rate and Optimal Resource Utilization.

Mistral’s ONFI 3.0 NAND Flash Controller IP core is available for Xilinx and Altera FPGAs. Mistral’s NAND Flash  Controller supports both Synchronous and Asynchronous modes of operation. The Controller can handle all the commands, address, data sequences, and hardware protocols.
