AM57x based Designs

Custom AM57x based Designs for a wide range of consumer and industrial applications based on the AM57x/OMAP5 SoCs and other OMAP architecture based SoCs from Texas Instruments.

OVERVIEW

The Open Multimedia Applications Platform (OMAP Architecture) is a family of image/video processors. The OMAP Architecture is a series of proprietary system on chips (SoCs) ideal for portable and mobile multimedia applications.  The OMAP architecture from Texas instruments is based on dual-core ARM Cortex cores. It is complemented by a programmable multimedia engine based on the mini-C64x DSP, dual Cortex-M4 cores, and various other on-chip accelerators.

TI’s OMAP architecture based SoCs like AM57x or OMAP5 SoCs (AM5716, AM5718, AM5726, AM5728) are ideal platforms for designing the next generation of computer-intensive applications with advanced graphics capabilities. OMAP Architecture is ideal for applications that require high-performance processing, real-time time control, advanced graphics, and low power fan-less operations.

Mistral’s Product Engineering Services team has vast expertise in providing custom design services on AM57x and other OMAP architecture based SoCs from Texas Instruments. Our AM57x based designs (OMAP5 based designs) include Hardware Design, BSP & Firmware, Application Development, Testing & Validation, Design for Manufacturability, Production Support and Product Lifecycle Support. Some of the targeted applications for the OMAP architecture include augmented reality, stereoscopic 3D, gesture recognition, machine vision, computational photography, secure wireless video streaming, multiple displays, and many other features.
